The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the collation of results for the Anambra governorship election.
Florence Obi, the returning officer for the election, announced this at a few minutes past 12am on Monday.
According to her, the decision to suspend the collation of results is to give room for a supplementary election in Ihiala LGA.
The collation officer for Ihiala LGA had, on Sunday, said there was no election in the entire area.
The three main contenders in the election are Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Suspension is in order, showed transparency on the part of INEC. Results declared so far, should be kept intact pending conclusion of election in the other LGs where election didn’t take place. After that, the parties that loose should concede defeat or go to Court if convinced they have good grounds. The country should be allowed to move on. There are many problems confronting us that require our collective attention. We are civilised people and should be seen that way in the eyes of the world.
