The race for the 2023 House of representatives contest will be very interesting in Irele/Okitipupa federal constituency.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) this time around are United in taking over the position from the PDP which currently occupies the seat.

On who will pick the APC ticket has been a major cause of discussion amongst political gladiators in the federal constituency.

Kolawole Akinmosun is a core progressive, He is a grassroots politician. The irele born philanthropist has his business in the United Kingdom (UK) He’s arguably the youngest and likely the most popular of the major contenders. Akinmosun has sponsored lots of students through scholarship and sports. It is believed that he has the blessings of majority of the youth, Women and traditional rulers. Chances 64٪

Prince Jimi Odimayo is also a strong stalwart of the APC, Odimayo who is one of the contestants in the 2020 gubernatorial primary election in the APC. He later stepped down in the eve of the primary election due to lack of party structure which led to the emergence of governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Odimayo is believed to have calculated that it will be easier for him to clinch the house of representatives ticket which may prepare him for the guber contest in 2025. Chances 49%

Pastor Igbasan is the immediate past commissioner for budget under governor Akeredolu.
The irele born politician though accused of not beign home based is a brilliant financial expert. Information also has it that he may be nursing governorship ambition in 2025. Chances 41%.

Other contenders are Hon Albert Akintoye and the current chairman of Irele local government Hon Ajimatokin.
