Yesterday, 21st of March 2021, member representing Akoko North East / West Fed. Const. at the green chambers, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, commenced the “BTO Maiden Edition of the Mathematics quiz competition for all secondary schools in Akoko North/ West Federal Constituency”.
The program which is aimed at “encouraging youths to cultivate the habit of reading” had over 400 students (2 representatives per school), as well as teachers from different Sec. schools across the constituency in attendance, at the venue of the examination, Victory College, Ikare-Akoko.
The examination started at 9.am and ended at 1.pm with two sections, Objective questions and theory.
BTO, who was represented by the chairman of the committee, Dr. Tosin said the efforts is to develop the habit of reading among youths, promote competition spirit among them and also to develop unity among schools in Akoko NE/NW Fed. Constituency.
“Our overall objective is to see more of our people attaining their full potentials and becoming active participants in the socio-economic development of this country,” he said.
Incentives such as notebooks, pens & vests were also distributed to participants and other students.
