SDP Holds South West Leadership Meeting In Osogbo, Reaffirm Commitment To The NWC Of The Party

COMMUNIQUE OF A MEETING HELD IN OSOGBO BY THE LEADERSHIP OF SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN THE SOUTHWEST ON WEDNESDAY 28TH OF OCTOBER 2020

The leadership of the Social Democratic Party(SDP) in the South West, Nigeria as represented by the Acting National Vice Chairman South West and party Chairmen of Ekiti, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Lagos and Ondo met on Wednesday 28th October, 2020 in Osogbo, Osun State and issued this communique.

That we viewed critically the recent protests in the country as a manifestation of people’s right to demand for fairness in governance. The EndSARS protest from all indications is meant to make government more responsive to the suffering of the people and rebuilding decayed infrastructure which is universal in Nigeria.

That we believe in Social Democratic Party(SDP) as a credible alternative to other political parties who have misgoverned and misruled this country in the immediate time past.

That the South West leadership of the Social Democratic Party reaffirms our commitment to the spirit of the National Working Committee of SDP to do things properly and judiciously in the best interest of the party particularly the implementation of article 13, Section 2, Sub-section (¡¡) as it relates to filling vacum in the position of the National Chairman which is currently vacant in the face of the constitution.

Conclusively, we implored the rank and files of the party across the country to embrace dialogue at all times rather than resorting to unending legal actions and /or battles.

Thank you.

SDP!!! PROGRESS!!!
