The National President of the Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON); Amb. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel has described the peaceful protests across the country as an awakening for Nigerian youths in holding the government accountable for her actions especially policies and institutions that has a direct impact on youths and the growth of the country at large.
Amb.Godstime stated this while commending youths across the country for actions taken towards ensuring a permanent end to the continual assault of citizens, most especially youths, by men of the Nigerian Police Force.
He named Speaker House of Representatives; Femi Gbajabiamila as “An Instrument of Social Engineering”, noting that the announcement of compensation made by the Speaker for victims of Police brutality to be created for in the current 2021 Budget presented by the Federal Government is a welcomed development.
The ELFON President charged Nigerian Youths to also stand against social vices like Cultism, Cyber crime, Exam malpractice amongst others. He also urged the Inspector General of Police to immediately order the release of protesters arrested during the #EndSARS protest who are currently held in different Police stations across the country, stating that scrapping FSARS is not enough but also this should kick start a total reform of the Nigerian Police to better defend the life and livelihoods of the ordinary citizens of the country, without any form of marginalisation, favoritism or molestation.
