A three-man panel set up to hear the motion ex-parte filed by the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar and his party has commenced hearing today.
At the hearing which is still ongoing at the moment of this report, Atiku and PDP’s attorney, Chris Uche (SAN) argues that the presidential candidate should be allowed to inspect materials used for the February 23 presidential election.
The panel of the Presidential Election Tribunal is led by Justice Abdul Aboki, The Nation reports.
Recall that the expanded caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday, March 4, said it has resolved to head to the Election Tribunal following the outcome of the 2019 presidential election which took place on Saturday, February 23.
The party’s caucus said it will not renege on plan by the PDP and its presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar in seeking legal redress over the election.
