On Nov. 19, 2014, the then APC Presidential Aspirant, Muhammadu Buhari, teamed up with Oyegun, and others in a peaceful protest, where they accused INEC of working with the Presidential Villa to rig the 2015 elections, and in real sense it was truly a peaceful protest. See Picture below;
In a similar move, Senate President Saraki, Gov Tambuwal, Sen Dino Melaye and other PDP members filed out in numbers to protest on 5th October, 2018 demanding a declaration of Adeleke winner of osun election and also warning INEC and Police over 2019 elections. See Picture Below;
The first protest was largely peaceful as there was no case of violence recorded, during and after the protest. But same cant be said with the PDP’s version of protest yesterday, there were a lot of alleged teargassing from the Police to the Distinguished member of the Senate.
The Police headquarters claimed the brouhaha was caused by some people notably Senator Dino Melaye after challenging the Policemen.
Now the question is, which one of the two protests is healthy for the development of democracy in the country.
