A photo trending on social media, shows the alleged employment letter of a Rivers State Senator’s media aide, issued on 10th October, 2017.

From the employment letter seen online, we gathered that Senator Andrew Uchendu reportedly pays his media aide 30k a month for his services. Here is the photo below;

65-year-old Senator Andrew Uchendu is a Nigerian Senator representing Rivers East in the red chamber. He was sworn in after Senator George Sekibo was booted out by the Appeal Court. The APC senator was declared the winner of the senatorial contest by the Court of Appeal, Abuja, cutting short the tenure of Senator George Sekibo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

A graduate of the University of Ibadan, Uchendu is a former member of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2011. A recipient of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), Uchendu is an ally of the minister of transportation, Chibuke Rotimi Amaechi. He was in the news few months ago, after he claimed that there was no crisis rocking the APC.

“It is when there are factions in the political structure of the party that you will say we have a crisis.

“But as we speak, the entire structures of the party from the state to the wards are intact,” he said.

“Since 2003, I have never on my own gone out to say I am running for any office.

“I have been lucky because it had always been that my party will call me to run for any office it decides.

“Go and check the records, I ran for House of Representatives three times, it was my party that called me to run, my party called me to run in 2015,” he claimed.

“If my party says no, you are not running, I will not run because I am a core party man. “But my history in election had been come and run because I have what it takes to win election,” the lawmaker said.
