Ondo APC to Boroffice: You isolated yourself during convention

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State yesterday tackled a Senator representing Ondo North senatorial district, Prof Robert Ajayi Boroffice over an alleged statement that he left the pavilion reserved for the state because of intimidation.

Instead, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Alex Kalajaye said it was the Senator that distanced himself from the delegates of the state.

Boroffice had opted to be with delegates from Jigawa State in their pavilion during the National Convention of the party, citing hostility from his fellow leaders.

He had said: “I could not even enter with any delegate tag because I don’t have one. I was allowed into this venue because I showed my identity card to them at the gate. I decided to sit here among Jigawa delegates to avoid likely embarrassment if I go to space provided for Ondo State delegates.”
But Kalejaye described the statement credited to Boroffice, on his no-tag claim, as disheartening.
According to him, it was Boroffice, who stayed away from the state’s activities before and during the event.

Kalejaye said: “While the screening lasted, I recall the name Ajayi Boroffice was called repeatedly without anyone to claim the tag.

All members of National Assembly from Ondo, who are members of our party, have their names on the list. The other two senators, Chief Tayo Alasoadura and Pastor Yele Omogunwa, did attend the screening and collected their tags. They also sat with delegates from Ondo State at the same pavilion without any embarrassment
“In any event, why would the people you are representing want to embarrass you? To the best of my knowledge, a leader deserves to be celebrated by his people, except there is more to it than one could comprehend.”
