Argentina striker, Sergio Aguero, has made an enthusiastic supplication to the Super Eagles, to keep their World Cup trusts alive by beating Iceland when the two groups conflict today in a Group D match. Aguero and his team-mates are on the very edge of an early exit from the competition, following a 3-0 whipping in the hands of Croatia on Thursday.
The outcome leaves the Albiceleste with only one point from their opening two fixtures. A win for Nigeria today against Iceland will, however, keep their expectations of qualifying alive. “(The defeat against Croatia) It makes me sad and angry but there’s another chance. We depend on others. We did everything we could, but now let’s hope for a miracle or something like that. We have to wait on Nigeria to do us a favour against Iceland and then try to beat them when we play them in our last group game,” Aguero told reporters in the mixed zone.
